2 Weeks of...

In the last 2 weeks, I have been sick, busy, sick, studying, sick, still sick, and more sick. But I am better now.

This was the first round of illness that I have had since arriving here, and boy, was it a doozy. I'm sure it was just a cold, but it crawled up into my ears and made its home in my throat and called itself happy. I haven't felt a sore throat like that since my years of tonsilitis. I had forgotten how miserable they were. I though about heading to the doctor, but every day I decided that I would tough it out just one more day... and I made it through. I drank a LOT of really strong lemon and honey tea, took a LOT of echinacea and just as many airborne tablets. I love airborne tablets. I wish we could get them here.

So now I'm back to 'normal' as it were, with an interesting little thing I have noticed. Acetaminaphen, here, is called paracetamol. And it, along with asprin and ibuprophen, are 1.) not available in bottles of large quantities, for fear of overdose... and 2.) between 15 and 35 pence a package of 16 tablets. That is 30 to 70 cents. So there is a trade-off. Yes, you have to go and buy them a little bit at a time, and yes that means no stocking up, but the price is so minimal. It makes me wonder why the US has to pay such high prices for pain relief in the states. If 'everything is more expensive' in the UK, are pharmacutical companies in the US really giving people their best prices? Or are they milking people to pad pockets? Just a little something that I had never thought about before.

Miss you all!

Hi ya'all.

We are having Indian summer. cold nights and beautiful days.

Things seem to stay busy around here. I got both newsletters printed and sent. Have been working on the library. Keeping up with the website and of course cleaning, cooking, etc.

Itty Bit had some crud on her back and the hair on the top of her feet was gone. $135.00 later, I found she had a virus and fungus. They sent me home with 4 pills, medicated shamooo and spray with instructions to give her a bath twice a week, the pills twince a day and spray her feet twice a day. Between her care and mine, it was a busy day. She had her check up and both were fine now but her harmones were low so now she gets a pills twice a day. She muist be doing better for she has run through the house several times like a teenager.

I was trying to move a railroad tie a few inches the other day, It started to roll down hill, knocked me over and made a couple deep gashes in my foot. It pained like the devil but after an xray, no broken bones. it is fine niw, onlu a couple little red spots.

Went to the eye doctor yesterday. My eyes sttm to stay red. He said he thought it was alergy and sent me home with a spray. It seems to be helping.

The last time I talked with skip he said he planned to come for Thanksgiving. I wonder if he thinks I am so bad off I wont be here Christman. He has such a short time off and so near Christmas I hate to see him have to be ob the road so long. Possibly he will change his mind. He got the ceramic tile on his floors and already found out he won't bounce on it. Debbies little dog tripped him and he skinned his elbow.

Talked a long time last night to Kelli. She was in the middle of writting a theme and was stumped so decided to rest for a while.
she made Crimson Scholar (sic) last semester which she is very proud of.

sorry to hear you have been ill. Possably you should get a flu shot. Try to build yourself up as much as you can because you will get ill easier now that your sustem is weak. Drink a lot of orange juice.

Gotta run, I love you
